High Patronage of the European Parliament for Women for Progress 2026
From May 29 to June 7, in Salento, the eleventh edition of the international event promoting sustainability, inclusion, and women’s empowerment will take place.
LECCE, ITALY – Women for Progress–Supporting the world, the international event promoting human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainability, has been granted the High Patronage of the European Parliament for its eleventh edition, which will be held from May 29 to June 7 in the lower Salento area, Italy.
For ten days, women from different countries, institutional representatives, associations, and local communities will come together to exchange ideas and projects aimed at building a more equitable and conscious future
The format, conceived and organized by the cultural association In Progress based in Taranto (Italy), includes meetings, workshops, and public initiatives, culminating in the Miss Progress International world final, a competition that highlights participants’ projects and social impact. The experience will be accompanied by a gastronomic proposal focused on local traditions and sustainability, curated by chef Mirco Vigna.
Created to give visibility to women’s concrete actions, Women for Progress has developed an international network of relationships and collaborations, establishing itself as a reference point for dialogue and inclusion. The partnership with the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” strengthens the educational value of the initiative, combining academic training with the protection of human rights and the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Over the years, the project has received numerous recognitions, including the moral support of the President of the Republic and five ministries, confirming its credibility and national and international relevance. Additional institutional patronages are currently under review, while that of the Apulia Region has already been formally granted.
